Q&T Coring Website
The Problem: Our client, Q&T Coring, suffered a great loss of business due to the COVID-19 pandemic as many work contracts within the city of Atlanta were put to a halt. This caused them to lose some of their former customers and business. The owner of Q&T, Angela Baldwin, asked us to create a website to help build up a new client base as well as reestablish some of those that had been lost due to the pandemic.
The Audience: Q&T is a construction company so their audience consists of electricians, plumbers. HVAC contractors, and mechanical contractors. The audience will be using the site specifically to find contact information, or to see if Q&T offers the services that they may need for their construction projects.
Building the Structure: Mrs. Baldwin asked us to create an easy to navigate website and provided us with her logo as well as a business card to help pull a color pallet from. We chose simple and easily legible colors and fonts to give her website a professional look and feel. To begin building the website we created a very simple structure. This would serve as the basic wire frame for the website.

We broke the site into its largest categories and created those as pages. We themed each of the pages off the logo as well as industrial Atlanta. We kept a running footer with contact information so it would always be easy to find. We also decided to keep the information as condensed as possible so that it could always be viewed within one to two clicks and a single scroll. We broke up sections by headers to improve readability as well as scanability.

Finally, we did a small scale usability test, giving 4 participants tasks to complete on the website. We made small changes post usability testing and then presented the website to the client. Overall, she was very pleased with the site. After receiving feedback and grade for this project we made a couple more very small changes and then the website was fully launched.
