Projects:
While working as an intern for New Relic, I completed a number of different multimedia projects in order to help me gain real-world work experience. I worked on the following projects:
-
Intranet Site Page Creation
-
I edited and created several different pages for New Relics Internal Internet, Nerd Life. This project involved user research to determine what content needed to be added or taken away from each of these pages. Due to the company rebranding in May of 2022, the pages all needed to be updated to match new company branding. Employee information has been redacted.
-
-
Logo Design
-
I designed several different potential logos for the team I was a part of due to a possibility of a team rebrand. For this project, I talked to our Art Director as well as another Multimedia Designer within our team. With all of the helpful feedback I was given, I put the logos through a few more stages of revision until I had a version that my manager and I were both happy with.
-
-
Articulate Rise Style Guides
-
Similar to the Nerd Life pages, our Articulate Rise courses were following the company's old branding. Due to this I was tasked with creating updated style guides in order to ease the development and creation of new instructional material. These style guides were created in both InDesign as well as Google slides so that different versions were more easily accessible to different users needs.
-
-
Job Fair Flier Design
-
For New Relic's Ignite program, I was asked to create a flier in order to promote the program at career fairs. The program is for recent graduates to ease them into the world of sales. The flier needed to show a timeline of events for the program. The program I created went through several stages of revision since it was initially unclear of what the need exactly was. This taught me to be more thorough when communicating about projects that do not have a lot of details.
-
-
Salesforce Instructional Video
-
This was my largest project of the semester. I worked closely with my mentor in order to create the script, recordings, and video content for this project. This project required me to learn two new software programs: Camtasia and Vyond. This project was to help increase sales competency when using a business tool within Salesforce. I was new to video editing when given this project and learned a lot of valuable information about the process of Instructional Design.
-
-
General Graphics Creation
-
I was also tasked with creating some different graphics for small projects throughout the semester.

Final Reflection:
I learned a ton from this experience and was very grateful to work for such a welcoming company. The culture of New Relic is very warm and inviting especially for its interns. I found that my projects helped me narrow down what I want to do more specifically for my career. I tended to favor graphic design projects as well as video design. I felt like those projects tended to use my skills the best and I was able to be both creative but also practical when creating those materials.
