Painting Portfolio
Fall of 2020
Project Description: For this project, we were tasked with creating a portfolio for all the works we had created throughout the semester. This portfolio shows my improvement using painting mediums as well as a range of project subjects.
The first piece in this portfolio was to display 3 objects laid out in an interesting fashion. I chose a flashlight, a laurel crown, and a bandana for my selection.
The second piece was an "en plein air" painting which was done right outside of our art building on the Macon Mercer Campus.
The third piece was a contour line painting. My initial subject was a stuffed penguin and I felt as though the energy of the painting was very fun and also had a great display of color and line.
The fourth piece was one where we had to make a collage based on our moods over a week long period.
The fifth piece was a recreation of "The Skiff" originally painted by Pierre- Auguste Renoir. This piece was to help us learn how to replicate an art style as well as how to use reference photos to our benefit.
The final piece in this portfolio was a self portrayal, we were tasked with portraying ourselves with symbols. I feel like my piece has an excellent use of color and texture to help create a dynamic piece.
